This weekend I attended two New Yorker Festival events. On Friday night, I heard Jhumpa Lahiri and Edward P. Jones read from their work. I attended by myself because my husband likes to watch Miami Vice reruns on Friday nights. Yesterday I went to David Denby’s interview with Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow. I’m guessing this event had more swear words than any other New Yorker Festival event this year, but I could be wrong. I felt cool because Bill Hader and his wife sat two rows in front of me. Afterward I spoke to Seth Rogen when I realized he was walking directly behind me on 57th St. I made a couple of lame remarks at which he laughed politely, then I walked away hurriedly, still in the same direction, like after Evan grants Becca permanent ownership of his pen in Superbad.
sooooo jealous. saw the program in the New Yorker and wished i could drive the five hours to attend.
