I got duped!

Pete, the MOB, the FOB and Mark the BM totally got me this evening! They had secretly arranged to transport the frozen top layer of our wedding cake from Charlotte to Mark's freezer to a hidden cooler to our fridge. Those sneaks! I was genuinely surprised...and excited and relieved, because the cake turned out to still taste quite good, even a year later. Thank you, Pete, and thanks to everyone who assisted Pete in pulling off the surprise!! We'll save you some cake.

On this day of days...

I just want to take a moment to say how incredibly fortunate I am to have such a beautiful, charming, talented, glamorous and sensational wife. She has taught me so much in the past year, from the ways in which Veronica Mars can inform one's philosophy of life to the fact that a man should not live without a steady diet of pop culture magazines and smart pop kettle corn. I am truly the luckiest man on the face of the earth. I love you, my darling bride. Kisses, Pete Thomson.

PS- In parting, just a few words of wisdom from a sagacious songstress and proprietor of Stars Hollow Music: If you're out on the road, feeling lonely, and soo cold, all you have to do is call my name...and I'll be there on the next train. Where you lead, I will follow. Love always, Pete.

On this day...

That was fast.

We've had a great first year, a testament to the spectacular send-off in Charlotte among family and friends a year ago today. The run-up to the wedding was action-packed, but it seems like the year since then blazed past, and was full of surprises both pleasant and poignant. And occasionally physically painful.

I don't know if anyone really reads this weblog anymore, but maybe a couple people will see it on their feed readers. Soon, I'll put together another post on the future of the NupLog, but I hope that future will involve Emily and Heath's impending nups.

I've got to get ready for dinner--and then it's on to a special dessert I got my hands on this morning.
