Engagement Party Fun

As you can see, the engagement party was a big success.

Please note the beautiful pineapple decorated with skewers of goodies by the MOH herself.

A pivotal moment

As promised, Melissa let me go to the cake tasting. The best cakes come from just over the South Carolina border, you know. We tried out vanilla, almond and lemon pound cakes, carved into a few different shapes. I refrained from demonstrating my true cake-eating capabilities for the caterers.

Papa Gene...

looks at a picture of the BTB and GTB. He says, "Well, he's a handsome fella...(pause)...I don't know how Melissa did it."

Pete wore a paper hat on his head!

I made a paper hat for Pete at Pat Troy's this evening. He wore it on his head.

He also sang along to "Tie Me Kangaroo Down." He's really part of the family now.

Good job, Pete.

Birthdays celebrated

Thanks to Erin and Melissa, Kurt and I had a great mutual birthday celebration yesterday evening. Kurt, who earlier won his age division in a 10k we ran, refused to be defeated by the un-extinguishable candles. Finally, Erin had to take them away from him.

anybody there?

Who got slack on the blog? Its exam time and I am looking for some procrastination. Why no new posts? I thought there would be numerous correspondences for me to catch up on; instead, I commented on those directed at me and am now left with nothing to do but write a paper on Donatello and Michelangelo (evidently its on the sculptors, not the ninja turtles...don't make that mistake).
