While I'm waiting, another photo. I should consider this one to go with the set of rotating photographs now on nuptials.wjpthomson.com. In fact, I encourage the submission of such photographs.
Our new location is much, much larger than the old one, so hopefully we can get Mark's video clips on here, possibly in some kind of multi-media set-up. And we can afford to bring on pictures like this one. Meanwhile, I'll keep digging around on SnapFish, looking for couple pictures.
The netherworld of flight
The BTB has slipped into the ether of the CLT TYS IAD Triangle. No radio or communications equipment can penetrate this void, at least while the cabin doors are closed. This despite the fact that her vessel remains safely parked on a taxi-way at Charlotte-Douglas, delayed by thunderstorms over Dulles (which, from my Reston vantage point, appear to be more fable than fact).

Also--congratulations are due a contributor...
One of our contributors--or contributors-to-be (ctb)--is no longer an
uncle-to-be, but rather a plain uncle. If he'd sign on officially, he could
tell us more about it.

Congratulations
Melissa finished going over her final "portfolio" project for grad school
this morning. Soon she'll be a master--officially.

Making a quick change...
I'm making a quick change to the NupLog. Over the next few hours, you may notice that your posts don't show up immediately, or may not be able to get to the NupLog. HANG IN THERE. We're getting more space.
UPDATE: We've moved. You'll need to update your bookmarks. The NupLog is in its rightful place.
UPDATE 2: Also: the link from nuptials.wjpthomson.com doesn't work at the moment, but I'll fix that later. And, keep an eye out for any problems, like broken links, images, etc. that got messed up in the move. Let me know if you find any! Thanks.

K-town's nuptial-industrial black market
Sounds like Kellye is showing Melissa Knoxville's quiet, back-alley wedding retailers--ones a long-time Knoxvillian GTB has never heard of, ones only those with bridal-street-smarts know--and only the hardest of core dare brave. I hope she appreciates the danger: sometimes deals go down wrong, someone gets hurt, brides-to-be get caught up in it all. Beware that path!

Bridezilla!!! Japan trembles in fear!!!
The power of google and its associated image search has once again yielded great results. While the picture is certainly scary, I wonder if there are lessons to be learned regarding veils and bouquet selection. Plus, you think finding the right dress is a pain - imagine looking for a size 607 without ruffled sleeves - that would make any bride-to-be ready to destroy entire cities. The final question raised is to whom bridezilla is betrothed? Mothra?
Updates...
Also: The contributor formerly known as Scott, formerly known as ScottyB is now known as "ADMINISTRATOR", presumably due to the launch of a new Weblog, The American Polis (TAP) (not to be confused with "Tapp"*). The political-cultural bent of TAP explains his rise from the more colloquial "ScottyB" to the cold, all-powerful "ADMINISTRATOR"** he was always meant to be.
*Speaking of Tapp--and soon, the Tapps--perhaps Melissa can recruit them as contributors this weekend.
**Don't worry--I remain the only cold and all-powerful administrator of the NupLog. Just don't look behind the curtain.

Is this what I signed up for?
- Bridesmaids have always played a vital role in protecting the bride and ensuring her happiness...to protect her from physical harm. this sounds dangerous, what kind of physical harm are we talking here?
- Encourage others to boogie and participate in group dances such as the hora, tarantella, etc. ok, who wants to lead the hora?
-Prop up a favorite photo of you and the bride on your dresser and another one by your phone. I'm not the one marrying her, why do I have to have pictures of her everywhere?
- Expect the Unexpected: Buttons pop. Grooms faint. Cakes collapse.
Pete, you faint and you're on your own. I wouldn't want to ruin my pretty dress trying to catch you.
And now, apparently the reason I should be doing this in the first place is to snag a husband for myself:
- "As a bridesmaid, you're more than likely to get more than enough unwanted attention from male guests who have downed a few cocktails."
- "Bring a fantastic outfit for the rehearsal dinner...that way the guests - and any interesting men you meet if you're single- will have ample opportunity to see how beautiful you look..."
- "The wedding weekend is the true test of a bridesmaid's mettle. Some get drunk and sneak off with the gorgeous guy from the catering crew..."
- "...but put your principles on hold for the night."
